Note: This is a special request for Colleen. The song is a beautiful one, with lyrics written by the talented Sakamoto Maaya herself. It's soft and quiet, but you really do feel like you're soaring in the sky. The message of the song itself seems to be one about the sadness of growing up and all that jazz. Which always makes me feel depressed, since I often start wondering if that means I've already passed the "best years of my life" or whatever. ;_;

shiroi sen de kaita maru no naka de
futari nekorogari
ue o mite warau
betsu ni takai kabe nanka nakute mo
bokura wa kimari o yaburu koto nante
kitto shinai ne

Inside of a circle drawn by a white line
The two of us lie down
And look up, laughing
There aren't really any tall walls or anything
So we aren't breaking any rules
Or anything like that

donna koto o gaman shite mo
kimi o mamotteyukou
nante kangaete sa
hontou nara hayaku tsuredashitai
ima wa futari sawarenai hikooki

No matter what I have to endure
I will protect you
I've been thinking that
If it's true, I want to quickly take you away
Now, it's the airplane that we cannot touch

amasugiru doonatsu wa
dandan taberenaku natte
karera ni chikazuita kedo
boku tachi wa anmari
kanashii koto ni naretenai kara
honmono wa mada tooi tokoro ni
aru n darou

Slowly, we've stopped being able
To eat too sweet doughnuts
We've come close to them
But we still aren't
Really used to sad things, so
The real thing is still
Far away

nemuru aida sukoshi dake tobou ka
futari dake no chikara de tobasou ka
nigenai keredo sono mane o shiyou yo
ima wa futari sawarenai hikooku

While we sleep, let's fly just a little bit
With only our power, let's fly
We can't run away, but let's pretend that we do
Now, it's the airplane that we cannot touch

nemuru aida sukoshi dake tobou ka
futari dake no chikara de tobasou ka

While we sleep, let's fly just a little bit
With only our power, let's fly

Lyrics belong to Sakamoto Maaya and Victor Entertainment, taken from the Hotchpoch album, VICL-60507 (track 10). Not like the words make any sense if you haven't heard the song, anyway. Romanized and translated into English very badly by Mina-P, with desperately needed help, as always, by Mako-chan. Any comments or corrections can be mailed to Mina-P at Minako@senshigakuen.com.
