Music Champ". "Ame" and Kids Alive quickly became favorites of mine. Kids Alive is a three man band of vocal Yuta, bass Akihiro, and guitar Keiji. Almost everything Kids Alive does is written exclusively by Keiji. Their music is not only varied and extremely well written, but when their debut album came out, they were still all in high school. How shocking is that? The song itself and the lyrics remind me of Kids Alive: complex and shockingly mature for teenagers who are way too young to know so much.

shizuka na ame sotto furidashita
kasa mo sasazu houkago no kaerimichi
ano hi kimi wa nani o omotta no?
atsui koi ni mune ga setsunakute

The quiet rain softly fell down
I didn't even have an umbrella on the way home after school
That day, what did you think?
My heart ached with hot love

meguriaeta koto wa unmei to kanjiteru
tada kono shiawase ni dore kurai tsukusu koto ga dekiru no darou

It feels like it was fate that we met
Only how long can this happiness last before it's all exhausted

ai no omosa o shiranai boku ni furisosogu ame
sono tsumetasa wa marude futari o tamesu ka no you ni

I don't know anything about the severity of love, the rain pours down on me
Almost like that coldness is simply testing us

kousha no kage hibiku koe mo naku
futari dake no toki ga sugiteyuku
soba ni itai ima wa sore dake de
soba in ireba imi ga wakarisou de

In the shadow of the schoolhouse I can't even cry out
Our time together is passing us by
I want to be near you right now I only want that
If I'm near you, then perhaps I'd understand the meaning

daremo ga surechigai ni tomadotteshimau kedo
kimi to te o nigireba nanimo kowakunai mada mienu "ai" datte

Everyone gets confused by chance meetings
But when I hold your hand, I'm not afraid of anything that's the yet unseen "love"

nakidashita sora bokura o tsutsumu kono mama koko de
mijuku mono da to yobarete mo ii itami o shiru kakugo wa dekiteiru
kimi o mamoritsuzuketai

The crying sky envelopes us as we are right here
It doesn't matter if you say we're too immature we're prepared to know pain
I want to keep protecting you

ai no omosa o shiranai boku ni... sono tsumetasa wa marude futari o...

I don't know anything about the severity of love... Almost like that coldness...

ai no omosa o shiranai boku ni furisosogu ame
sono tsumetasa wa marude futari o tamesu ka no you ni

I don't know anything about the severity of love, the rain pours down on me
Almost like that coldness is simply testing us

nakidashita sora bokura o tsutsumu kono mama koko de
kimi no kokoro ga kono sora ni naranu you ni zutto zutto sou zutto

The crying sky envelopes us as we are right here
Like your heart doesn't exist in this sky always always yes always

ai no omosa o shiranai bokura doko made yukeru?
kimi no namida ga kono ame ni naranu you ni zutto zutto sou zutto

We don't know anything about the severity of love How far can we go?
Like your tears don't exists in this rain always always yes always

Lyrics belong to Keiji and Avex Trax, taken from the 3 Colors Infinity album, CTCR-18034 (track 2). Not like the words make any sense if you haven't heard the song, anyway. Romanized and translated into English very badly by Mina-P, with desperately needed help, as always, by Mako-chan.
